Summer Clerk and Graduate Recruitment 2025/2026 - applications now open

We are recruiting for a limited number of Summer Clerk and Graduate positions for 2025/2026.  Applications close at 12pm on 24 March 2025.

We view the Summer Clerk experience as an opportunity for talented students to do real work, meet real clients and contribute to real projects. It’s not about being a “summer clerk” – there is no summer clerk challenge, retreat or skit – but being part of the team and experiencing what it is really like to work at our firm.  Our approach to recruitment has always been to give positions to people whom we hope will join us permanently at the end of their studies, not just fill a seat for the summer. 

While most of our Graduates are returning Summer Clerks, we are also looking for a few additional team members in anticipation of a busy 2026.

  • Covering letter – we are interested in hearing about you … but also keen to know why you are interested in joining us! No AI please!
  • CV.
  • Academic Transcript.
  • Writing sample (a recent University assignment that you are proud of would be ideal).
  • Location preference in our Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch office locations.
  • Confirm your interview location availability – we interview in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
  • Indicate if you are applying for a Summer Clerk (summer of 2025/2026) or Graduate (commencing full-time work in 2026) position.

Interviews will be held on the following dates:

  • In Christchurch on 2 and 3 April.
  • In Auckland on 16 and 17 April.
  • In Wellington on 23 and 24 April.
  • In Dunedin on 14 and 15 May.

We will contact you in early April to confirm whether you are invited to interview and we intend to make our offers to successful candidates in May 2025.
