Rob Harris

Rob Harris

PRINCIPAL

Rob has a wide range of experience in property and construction projects, in particular in the context of major projects, construction law and unit title developments.
Having spent the early part of his career in the construction litigation team of one of New Zealand’s large law firms, Rob brings strong advocacy skills to our contract negotiations and project advisory work.  He specialises in providing client-focussed, strategic advice in respect of projects, with a particular expertise in risk mitigation and management, contract interpretation and dispute avoidance/resolution throughout the life-cycle of a project.

Rob acts for a number of government and large commercial sector clients in the property and construction industries.  He has recently worked with clients including Kāinga Ora—Homes and Communities, Ventia, NZRPG and Beca across a wide range of matters. 
 
Rob has experience working with standard form construction contracts (including the NZS and IPENZ suites) as well as complex bespoke documentation and alternate project delivery structures, such as PPP and joint ventures.  He also has extensive experience advising clients in respect of issues under the Construction Contracts Act, Public Works Act, Unit Titles Act and the Personal Property Securities Act.
